My name is Martina Cassiau. I am a textile designer, born in Argentina, specialized in cultural heritage management (both degrees from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism at the University of Buenos Aires), and hold a Master’s degree in Social Anthropology. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Social Anthropology at the National University of San Martín. In 2025, I was awarded a full-time doctoral fellowship from CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research Council of Argentina).

I work at the intersection of design, craft, and anthropology, supporting collective creative processes with artisan communities. I am interested in thinking of design not only as an aesthetic or productive tool, but as a sensitive language that enables the weaving of relationships, the generation of exchanges, and the opening of questions around identity, memory, and territory.

From a social design perspective, my work seeks to create spaces where innovation emerges through dialogue between crafts, generations, and diverse contexts. I support processes aimed at valuing living traditions, strengthening local knowledge systems, and exploring ways to project this knowledge in contemporary terms, always in close collaboration with communities.

I carry out fieldwork, produce academic publications, and actively participate in conferences, symposiums, and interdisciplinary exchanges, with the aim of continuing to build bridges between academic spaces and the situated knowledge of local communities.
